TAB Derby on the move

Listen to Audio Version:

TAB Derby strengthens partnership with Chamber in Pride Park move

The Alternative Board Derby has strengthened its partnership with East Midlands Chamber by moving into its offices on Pride Park.

TAB Derby became a patron of the Chamber in August last year and they have already held a number of successful joint events.

Managing Director Julian Smith said: “This was a natural move because our patronage of the chamber has been a great success.”

During the past last eight years, TAB Derby has worked with 125 businesses across a broad number of sectors, including retail, marketing, manufacturing and accountancy, and training companies.

Through Julian and fellow facilitator, Jimi Ball, TAB Derby brings perspective and focus to executives, helping them deal with complex issues at work and at home with support from peer advisory boards and one-to-one coaching.

The TAB peer boards comprise business owners who need to bounce off people in similar situations – away from the environment of their own companies.

They help them focus on what they are trying to achieve in their business life and outside it, particularly focusing on their personal vision.

In the past year, Jimi and Julian have helped their members or clients increase their revenue by an average of 25.2% a year (5.4 times the national average).

Meanwhile, they have helped one company achieve 50% growth, worked with another burgeoning firm on its office move, assisted another through a very difficult redundancy programme.

They were also instrumental in the sale of a family business, earning its owner the aforementioned three years and helped another executive realise his dream of exiting his company.

TAB Derby began patronage of the chamber because both organisations believe so passionately in supporting Derbyshire businesses and in the huge potential of the region.

Julian added: “We think the Chamber has a really strong leadership and wanted to add our weight to its offering.

“In return we have found its staff to be hugely supportive in helping us with events which showcase our contribution to the business community.

“It made total sense to be even more closely aligned when the lease ended on our office in Full Street.

“We have already received a very warm welcome and look forward to a really productive working relationship in the future.”

Chamber chief executive, Scott Knowles, said: “TAB Derby has already brought skills and expertise which have complemented other patrons and been a hugely enthusiastic partner.

“Therefore, we were delighted that Julian and Jimi have moved into our offices to tighten our working relationship even further.”

TAB Derby is holding a number of taster sessions for those interested in becoming members and seeing what they offer. These are at their new offices within the chamber’s building at 2 Victoria Way, Pride Park and are on March 29, April 30 and May 22.
